Parafilm M wrapping technique?

So I recently moved from using the roll of parafilm grafting tape to the big 4" wide roll of parafilm M. With this one I should incur a much lower cost per plate considering I only need to cut a small strip off the roll to wrap each plate.
However! With the roll of grafting tape I could wipe the whole thing down with iso before use and leave it in my flowhoods sterile airflow before using it, ensuring that a.) Its clean and b.) I'm not having to move my hands out of the sterile flow to get a piece of tape to wrap a plate.
Now I find myself reaching up over my hood to get strips of tape to wrap plates.
This seems like a huge vector to pulling spores in to my sterile work area.
What is the common technique for using this stuff? Do I cut the # of strips I'll need before I even start working? Do I wipe it down with I so before cutting into strip? After?
Seems like it should be something I'd figure out, or something that shouldn't make that much if a difference, but I am dealing with a contam issue right now and trying to tighten up my workflow...
Thoughts/help?

cut the roll in half to make 2" wide tape, keep that in your workspace. or get the dispenser that goes with said roll.
I use Saran wrap...

Not sure how that helps me, unless you're saying to cut the roll in half and use it that same way I used the 1" wide grafting tape roll...

Hmm... Perhaps. But at that point I might as well just go back to the grafting tape rolls...

I thought Saran Wrap was a "non-breatheable" material, I've been using Glad cling wrap because of this. Did I get my brands mixed up, and been using the wrong stuff this whole time?????
