First time BRF without perlite? wat do

So after being a lurker for some years i finally started my own little experiment. So i went to a local shop and bought a syringe of B+ and a friend of mine gave me a 1/4 syringe he had left over.
So on the day of inoc. i used the entire new syringe on four 1/2 pint jars (ya i know i wasted it) and the rest of the 1/4 syringe on two more jars. i figured the cost/waste was no problem and i can always buy more if needed, but if i get a solid flush out of one batch then i can just print and repeat anyway.
fast forward to showing signs of growth. the only two to show growth are the ones i inoculated with the 1/4 syringe from my friend. ALL FOUR jars from the fresh spore syringe show ZERO signs of any kind of growth (not even bacterial growth. Yay for sterilization) so apparently this local (and well known shop) is screwing people over which is totally uncool.
But now i'm beyond just growth. one of my jars has 1 or 2 little pins forming and i dont have any perlite for the FC... is there anyway of spawning these two cakes efficiently without perlite? or should i wait about a week or so for delivery time for perlite?
i was planning on doing a SGFC. thoughts?

throw a wet towel in the bottom of your sgfc, change it out every 3 or so days and mist as needed

desperate locations call for desperate measures. substitutes for perl: well, perl is already a substitute for vermiculite, so that would be number one on my list. in some countries it is outlawed for fear of asbestos.
the nearest garden center to you is a week away?
other substitutes in order of preference:
rock wool, angel's hair, sand, crushed oyster shells, pasteurized ordinary dirt. for indoor cultivation, none of these compare to vermiculite. good luck, wait a week.

oh! excuse my opinion, to me, perl is a substitute for verm in mushroom cultivation, pretty much all around.
1. verm does a far better job of absorbing moisture per volume.
2. verm does a far better job of controlling humidity.
3. it is dark colored when wet, and shows contams faster and better.
4. perl has a nasty habit of becoming airborne.

1: ya don't want something that holds mosture ya want something that gives it off 2)no it doesn't 3)perlite is a rock and won't contam lol! 4)so does verm when it's dry lol!
verm is food for fungi perlite isnt' it is a rock with lots of surface area for for air to pass through. don't use food for fungi to replace perlite and if ya do switch it out every few days which is why i say a towel, easy enough to pull out and toss it in the washing machine

Given the level of indignation you're exuding I am afraid you could not be more wrong.

Mud holds even more moisture BY volume.

I have heard of people using polyifill synthetic pillow/craft stuffing and misting it down as well. Being synthetic helps keep it from growing mold and other contams. I have never tried this peronally but recently read on here where people have. It can be bought at any bigbox store in the crafts or fabric dept. Hope this helps!
PS - Not 100% on this, but adding a little H202 to your spray bottle may help keep it fresher. Just don't spray any h202 on your cakes. And make sure to set your cakes on a small square of foil!

Someone on here not long ago had success using polyfill instead of perlite.
You don't need any peroxide with your misting... Poly is a synthetic material and will not contaminate or promote mold growth.

Thank you for clarifying the peroxide part. Wasn't sure about that...
