if whatever you've got in there is fully colonized, it'll be resistant to contamination, but still...fuck'n flies man, gross.
I would be afraid they'd start laying eggs and maggots and shit, but I dunno if that's actually a concern (haven't had fly problems before, so I dunno)

you could try rigging up something like this:

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=diy%20fly%20trap

this topic has been addressed on here a few times, but I wouldn't know exactly what to search for

Never seen regular flies around a grow, only fungus gnats. Count yourself lucky though if that's all you have. Swat and carry on

Yea I had a fruit fly infestation man, they only liked my bacterial tub though which was cool I guess. They left all my healthy projects alone.

Anyway flys shouldn't be a problem unless you start seeing lots and it becomes clear they are breeding in there but I don't think they would. Probably just being annoying fcking flys

i almost had to battle flys during my sub colonization (due to hpoo i think) but once i cased it, they dont seem to be interested. i do go on a fly killing spree tho couple times a day. i cant handle them touching me :psycrankey: lol

I agree with bloodyice69.  If you use poop in your substrates, your chances of encountering fungus gnats, fruit flies and common house flies are increased.  We all know flies love shit.

If you have any type of bacterial or fungal contamination it may attract them as well.

I had a battle with fungus gnats in my first grow, which was cpoo based.  Since then, I have only used CVG as a substrate and the fungus gnats haven't come back.

Edit:  I also find that flies are attracted to SGFCs more than MONOs.  This may be due to the stronger smell they generate from constant airflow through them and misting frequently.
