Getting Ready for First Grow. mushbox jars question

I recently ordered and bought everything i need for my first attempt at growing for myself and a couple friends. I had heard mixed reviews about mushbox pre-sterilized jars, but i bought them anyway. I now know i could have saved a lot of money making my own but I'm hoping I'm not wasting my time or syringes on them.
My question is that i had heard moisture is required in substrates? In the video i saw from mushbox when they zoom in to show the inoculation process it looks very dry. Is that correct? Also, What are the reasons people dislike mushbox jars (besides the ridiculous price)?
-------------------- the void is staring back at me.

It seems like you have the word spawn mixed with substrate. Your spawn is what is going to be inside of those overpriced rye jars you bought AFTER they are fully colonized. The substrate is the bulk material which you will mix your fully colonized rye jars with. This substrate will require moisture but the pre sterilized rye jars that you bought should already have the correct moisture content for you to be able to inoculate them with no problems. Make sure you dont use more than 1ml spore syringe water per jar or you will have excess water in your jars

The ridiculous price is why people hate mushbox jars lol, for the price of a single jar you could have bought 12 jars and enough rye berries to fill them. For the price of a dozen you could have a shiny new pressure cooker... These jars should work fine though, noc em up with a cc of spore water and keep an eye on them.

The price and the fact that you don't have control over the sterilization process and that would cause me all type of paranoia
