70-80% colonized, now what?
    #20597349 - 09/21/14 02:20 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

ive heard some different things about once your jars are around 70-80% colonized with mycelium that your supposed to or by preference do certain things to them i cant remember exactly all of them but one was like flip them upside down, another was like put them in fdirect sunlight, can anyone clarify on what i should do with these jars or if i should just leave them as they are and not do anything right yet. thanks

Leave them alone for now unless you have a particular reason.  They're on the home stretch now!

you should edit the vendors name out of your post. :rules:

MS means multispore = spore syringe or spore print

Don't turn them upside down and they should be in indirect sunlight the whole time. Oh and edit the vendor name out of your post.

my SGFC

the last pic you can see where initially i drilled a bunch of smaller holes so the perlite didnt fall out than i was talked into just sticking with the 1/4" holes along the 2" grid so i re drilled 1/4" holes along the grid on the bottom thats why theres a bunch of smaller holes around them.

from what i have read, it looks good. make sure you use 3-4 inches of well rinsed perlite and elevate it a few inches from whatever it is gonna sit on.

im still in the colonization phase of my first (non-failure) grow myself so be sure to get some answers from the more experienced peeps around here.

Yes, once the jars are completely 100% white let them consolidate for a week and then birth and dunk/roll. Put them in the FC on a piece of tin foil and mist/fan as needed. Enjoy the fruits of your work.

no way to be sure their completly consolidated is there? that means the entire substrate all the way through to the middle is infested with mycelium right?
