I didn't sterilize my vermiculite but I know RR suggests it. I used it right out of the bag.
The clone surprisingly was clean but took forever to take off on the plate

Yeah, the verm to me does not appear to need to be sterilized, I would like to hear what others do.
What grain ru using? And ru just growing them for shits, or you using them for anything? As you have probably read, I have grown to love the tea, IDK about the health benefits, but apparently it is being proven, I do 3 2 hour long boils(using varying amounts, I have got to come up with a standard thought), after every 2hours, I dump it in to a container, and start another 2 hour long boil, with a lid on it, keeping water being poured into it as it loses some to evaporation, I cut them down into about 1/2-1 inch pieces, then smash them after every boil, I would love to make the alcohol etraction, but , well, u know.=, scared of what the alcohol may do to me, so def. not worth it, in my situation, I guess I should have asked if you care to know what I did with it before hogging up your thread, sorry man.
I then drink a quart jar of it before bed, seems to help put me to sleep, then in the mornings, I make a 50/50 blend of coffe and reishi tea, and seems to get me going, while still being healthy! This is only when I am in stock, of course, gotta start being in stock more, cause I really enjoy the stuff!
I only drink it warm thought, cold it taste TERRIBLE to me.
Anyway, keep the pics coming, I want to see how they end up!

I made a gallon batch using some herbal peach tea bags and a few dates for sweetness. It actually wasn't to bad cold.

Yeah, for some reason I just don't care for it, personal preference really, kind of like I don't like cold coffee, but a lot say the tea taste terrible no matter what, hot or cold, without being flavored, I thought this at first, but I guess I have acquired a taste for it, cause I absolutely love it plain and warm now!
I have read if it is beneficial to you, you will more then likely like the taste, if not then it's just not needed by you, how much truth to that, I kind of really doubt, but kind of like the thought of it

as you can see an oil objective not only makes the image a bit bigger but the clarity is way better which you would think would be the other way around considering it's more magnification.

You ended up with some pretty nice photographs, your spores confirm that it is in the G.resinaceum clade
In the lower magnification they appear smooth, and under higher you can see that they are covered in numerous, but small specks.
Almost every other clade in Ganoderma seems to have much more prominent specks. The specks are really interwall pillars that form in between an inner wall and an outer wall, this double wall nature is one of the things that distinguishes Ganoderma. G.lucidum has larger and fewer pillars giving it a much rougher appearance, for comparison see my sig photo.
Very cool, nice shots.

I could probably shoot video of how it looks focusing through but I don't know where I would ever want to upload a video. when you pan the focus through the spore you can really see the detail of those pillar structures.

They can be really difficult for me to photograph with the camera I have.So I usually just note the structure and take photos that try to get the outline as crisp as I can for measuring. I also usually measure from the inside spore wall, which tends to give me smaller measurements than most of the published measurements, but I do so because the outer wall has a tendency to break, giving skewed measurements.

it's a bit more shiny and lacquer looking. I tried to wash off as many spores as I could. I made a tin foil contraption to hang from the antler part so it could print the spores but even in still air they got everywhere on the cap. so it's sort of dusty.

I harvested most of my fruits. The ones I left to grow got put into my GH yesterday. They seem to like it in there. I've got new growth coming from every point I harvested from.
