Question about misting cased trays.

I have had some problems regarding lightly misting casing layers that have started to slightly dry.
The casings have been always been applied at full colonization. One tray in the past was late cased.
Casing materials have been 50/50 peat & verm ph adjusted to 7.5-8.0. and stabilized with gypsum.
On at least two occasions the casing seemed to become somewhat dry so I lightly misted it with a super fine spray bottle such as used in a hair salon.
Both times I used tap water just as I use when misting PF Style cakes that have been dunked, then rolled in verm.
However, when I have misted the trays, both times they showed contamination within 3 days.
I just don't understand why my trays would contaminate from a light misting (then fanning to help in evaporation) when I mist my BRF cakes 3-4 times per day and have never had a contamination of cakes.
I am using water from the same tap. Using the same spray bottle, which I disinfect periodically, etc.
This one has me stumped. How am I to initiate pinning when I can't even mist a tray? Thanks god for monos, because that is what I am going with mostly now. With the exception of some BRF jars I knocked up to get some prints. (seems I have no problems doing the PF-tech).
Everything seems a-ok as far as colonization, etc. Just as soon as I mist a casing layer, BAM... contamed.
Any ideas what the hell is causing this? BTW, it's trich or what looks exactly like it. I did have a trich infection about 6 months ago where I removed the foil from a sporulated tray not seeing the contam before it was too late. (I know).
Is it possible these trays are already infected but don't show until I mist? I am at a loss on this because cakes do fine 100% of the time for me. I just had a tray I cased and did a 60/40 coir/verm to see if it contams. I know coir is best for a sub & not a casing, but I wanted to see what happens with this. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry for such a long post....

Your trays are showing the contams before the first flush?
How's your pasteurisation process?
I don't think is the water.

Your casing recipe, though simple, is a tricky one. Use jiffy. Simple. Also, what alien said

Right on... I have the pasteurization process down pretty well. Between 140-160f for 60-90min. I think I will start to use Jiffy. I have like 3 big bags of the miracle grow stuff I got dirt cheap for starting plants but I am leary of using in for casing because of the added fertilizers. I will get some Jiffy and try that out. Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated!

stop casing for awhile the issues with casing are they don't get fully colonized and they trap contam spores between them and the sub, normally not an issue but if it becomes one like your having i'd skip the casing all together or use a simple coir/verm casing(they dont' contam as easy)
