I called the resistance nearly to the penny.  It hit 21.18 then dropped all the way to 20.65, bounced all the way to 21.12.  Then failed again, last price 20.74.

Literally hit 21.205 today and failed yet again at that level.  Support short term has held a few times at 20.65.  Last price 20.97...

Update.  After failing a few more times at 21.20 area, silver finally broke through that resistance today with a fast move up to almost 21.60.  Resistance now at 22.  Not sure if 21.20 really deserves a support category so I will stick with 20.65 for now.

The 200 day moving average continues to actually drop and has been crossed by the 50 day ma.

Failed miserably today.  21.20 clearly didn't deserve a support category.  Last price 20.90.  Resistance 21.18.  Support 20.65.

Tested support and "held" at 20.70.  That's the "good news".  The chart, however, looks like crap.  I wouldn't be surprised if support fails next week and we retest high 18s.  Lower highs in addition to lower lows, and below both 50 and 200 DMA isn't a bright technical picture.

Update - Failed miserably as predicted.  Close 19.55.  Chart looks horrible.  A retest of high 18s support is still expected.

Update 9/19/14

Silver gets another spanking with the strong dollar leading the way.  Down 50 cents to under 18.  You have to go back a long way on the chart for these prices.

Regrets apmex buy. Should have listened to geo.

In a way, fuck it though, I'm still up like 15 grand, and it would have to drop very low for my holdings to even out.

On the bright side, the mixed and unsorted 100 dollar FV bag will give me something to do.

Looked at my collection and circulated coin books.  It'll be nice to fill them in.

I'm missing a lot of walking libs and barber quarters but at least I got them at yesterdays spot.

Looking at the chart, I really think we could see a dead cat bounce here.  19.65 major resistance.  Snap back bounces in a bear market can be fast! Last price = 17.79.

I assume Dys went and bought some metal recently.  The precious metals complex has been under pressure and is in the process of breaking down to multi year lows.  I noted this to him 8 days ago here:

I would be careful buying too much gold right here.  Not saying this isn't a good place to add a little bit to a long term asset allocation strategy, because the metal is at multi-year lows.  But the fact is, the metal is at multi-year lows, there is a lot of downward pressure on the complex, because of the fact that the Fed is signaling to raise interest rates in 2015 and that is putting upward pressure on the dollar, which has an inverse relationship to the price of gold.

Actually gold was a little lower than now in Dec 13.

As to silver, my call remains for a dead cat bounce carrying us to first test the $18.70 area, then all the way back to $19.60 area prior to another down leg.  This to be delivered in 6-8 weeks.

Gold, no prediction.  This is the silver bottom thread!

The gold silver ratio is something like 66.6:1 which is an interesting coincidence and hugely above historical levels.  Long term the ratio is 16:1.  So we see gold is overvalued by 400% historically.
