Cheap mushroom grow? Update 2

(9/18)I just started this grow-op/experiment, today. So I'm going to try and see if i can grow shrooms using only manure, brown rice, flour and compost. I'll check in every now and then to update on the progress.
Update(9/19): everything seems well, tempature is about 82-85 very humid and moist, no sings of mycelium.
Update(9/26): mycelium has started growing on the substrate, smells like crap, no signs of contamination.

Bullshit, everyone knows coir is only good for casing
OP your experiment has already been done. In fact its been done without rice. PP did cakes using only hpoo and verm. Keep the experimenting mindset tho cause it will serve you well once you have grown enough that your familiar with whats been done and what hasn't.

if you sterilize the lot in a sealed mycobag and knock up with a LC/LI through a SHIP I dont see why this wouldnt work. blue helix grew like this (with grains and not rice tho, but..tomato tomato) and mudafuka does the same in qt jars.

It's not a revolutionary idea and the OP was worded a bit strange but its a solid technique if done correctly. You need to sterilize your substrate. You want to inoculate with liquid in a SAB or in front of a flow hood and colonise in sterile conditions. I have started skipping the spawn run on all my grows.. Its cheep, easy and low risk.
OP don't let these guys get you down. You obviously have a lot to learn and need to do some research but I really like the fact that you are thinking outside the box.
