Decided to ditch the SG and go with a PMP. Is this a good idea?

I have decided to do a Poor mans Pod instead of a SGFC, as it seems like the Poor mans is much better in terms of reliability than the SGFC. Plus is much more stealthy.
I plan to do it in an opaque container and have waterproof led's on the inside of the chamber. I've got several bubble wands and two air pumps to use. Getting some geolite tomorrow. Essentially I'm ready to go.
Will the opaque container with LEDs on the inside work?
Can you over fan/mist with this setup? I know they say its essentially a maintenance free FC, but I think some fanning and misting is needed here and there, just don't know how often.
Is this FC as stealthy as they come for fruiting cakes? (stealthiest I've found in days of research)

I'll let the constant hum of the air pump answer that question for you...

No It isn't a good idea. Any reason why you decided to switch? What was the factor that made you want to fuck your grow up?

Just looked like a more high tech set up than a SG. Also read many people having great results with them too.
I have lots of aquarium supplies laying around from my massive planted aquarium I had before I moved. Seemed like it was meant to be.
It's not too late, I haven't even built the pod, whereas I have a SGFC built and ready to go. My jars have just started to get fuzzy, still have another month maybe.
Guess I'm sticking with the SGFC then!
On another note, got some new syringes today from a sponsor this time! These have lots of black specks floating around in them, My others were clear (non-vendor). Payed for two, and they sent me 4! Cant complain there!

High tek isn't really a good thing the best solutions are generally the simplest ones. SGFCss when used correctly are much easier to dial in and maintain then automated systems. How old are these posts by people having great success with PMPs? I don't know of any one who uses one anymore.

It'll probably work, but it's also a gigantic expensive pain in the ass in the end, more than you might think it is right now. Wait until you have to move it somewhere else or clean it out.
Funny how someone says "PMP" and everyone 's it, yet someone posts this http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20548753/page/1 and the poster gets accolades. Just sayin'. There you go op, there's a project for you, duplicate that.

it's all about concept.
You've got to do what you've got to do. If you know what&why you're doing something, you're most likely going to get
however, if you're asking questions about something(that's TYPICALLY not necessary) and you make claims such as: "Poor mans is much better in terms of reliability than the SGFC" you're setting yourself up for
it's message board dynamics, where the situation&circumstances get disregarded
When I got into this, I HAD to install central heating and air, garage with a mercedes and room for a pony, all in an unadulterated tub, due to lack of appropriate resources. and it worked fine, but I also kind'a knew what I was doing. but I never asked or told anyone about it
guess it's a fear of n00b-like mistakes of others...or whatever

Wasn't really making a claim or saying it was in fact better, I would consider it an educated observation of sorts (coming from a noob).

well, either way:
bubblers in the rocks, keep 'em wet; I dunno if the bublers will have enough "umph" in 'em to keep the fresh air move'n along, I know I ended up having the lid cracked-open on my rig most of the time;
just keep RH up and fresh air moving, 12/12 light cycle, you'll be

Very true. a-typical fruiting chambers can work well if you're able to spend time to fuss over them and get them to work properly:

If you have the time almost anything can be made to work. Hell with a bit of babysitting you don't even need a FC.

I gave up on PF long ago because I had to fuck with it too much and only got mediocre results. I had already moved on to monotubs by the time I learned about the SGFC. I'm strictly in the monotub school for cubes, but damn if I ever do something that does better in trays I will do the SGFC for sure. What I've learned in my time here is that the simplest setup will give you the best results. Air pumps and grow rocks are for aquariums and weed lol.
