Mystery Mushroom in FC?!

So I got up this morning and checked on my BRF Cambos and found this mystery mushroom growing OUT OF THE PERLITE!
This is some shitty miracle grow perlite with some kind of fertilizer in it so I'm assuming some spore got mixed with the perlite. It sure doesn't LOOK like a Cambo to me...

I have another FC with PURE perlite. But it already has 9 cakes in it. Should I move my 12 Cambo cakes into my other FC? I just don't want this shitty perlite to fuck up my cakes.
Also the perlite is getting a orangey tint to it. And it's starting to stink:

What do you guys think???

it's a mycena species and there sorta a common contam and i believe there spores are even thermo tolerant, the perlite won't fuck up your cakes just make sure to rinse the fuck out of it

Rinse the fuck outa the perlite or the shrooms? Cus I rinsed the perlite already when I hydrated it. Rinsed the fuck out of in fact, for like 10 minutes in the shower.
Please clarify!?

And even with the ranky ass smell is it ok to keep these cakes on the perlite???
The cakes ARE starting to produce healthy looking pins. I just dont want this funky perlite to contam my cakes or something.

your cakes can fend for themself and yes i'm talking about the perlite not the fruits. just take them out (the cakes) for a minute and give the perlite a quick rinse but being wet generaly makes it sorta like a sab and most contams in perlite stay there until it's dry enough to be pushed around

They definitely must be thermo tolerant - I pasteurized too much of the store bought manure compost, so I ended up throwing the excess into a few potted plants - those exact mushrooms popped up everywhere.
Tough little bastards for sure!

Ok will do. I will take the cakes out and give the perlite a good rinse.
Also I have pretty hard well water. It is ok to use well water when dunking/rinsing/hydrating, yes?

After you boil your water, the usable nutrients that remain will give a one-up to contams that land on your perlite, cakes, etc. I don't know if hard water is more rich in nutrients, but i'd be curious to know.

Hard water is rich in minerals and will not be a contam risk. I would only use water safe for human consumption to be on the safe side tho I don't recall hearing about heavy metals and the like actually making it in to fruitbodies or not. But I would not want to be dunking/misting with pesticide or heavy metal laden water.

Those are a common field mushroom especially in manure patches. But what is it feeding and fruiting from in the perlite... that's my question...

I just figured there's pieces of cake all over the perlite and anyone who's grown with a liner can tell you dont need the entire sub to get a fruit, myc will crawl up the walls and start pinning and seem to grow off the liner.
so pieces of cake hidden right under the perlite
yeah what cron said.. speedy fucker

Hey guys thanks for the replies!
I have well water where I live and I NEVER drink it cus it tastes like shit. However I do shower/do dishes wit it.. It makes my toilet/sink/shower rusty looking so I'm not sure weather it will be bad for shroom growth. I have a culigan water dispenser for drinking water. Should I use that or do you think my sink water will be fine???
This is the perlite I used

It says "enriched with miracle grow plant food". So I think thats where the invasive shroom came from. It's all they had in stock at my local ACE hardware but I will get the pure shit from now on. Like I said this shit STINKS. Like rotten stink... But as long as I don't have a risk of contaming my cakes I'll just keep em where there at.

I'll be honest, the rotten smell you're describing would be the most off putting thing about the entire project. No good.
