Hi All,

This is a single B+ cake alone in a SGFC temp 72 hu 99

I noticed a small spot on the cake a couple days ago right when the pins were starting to form. Today the spot is darker and a little bigger. I am no overly concerned since this was a test/first cake and I have others on another tub but I would still like to save this and get something off of it if at all possible.

Pretty sure its not bruising although since this was a test cake admittedly it was handled more than it should have been.

Thank you for the reply. The blue bruising seems to only be around the top of the cake. I am more concerned with the spot that has grown in size over the last couple days. It has been well over a week since the cake has been touched.

yea now that looks like a contamy whamy.. me personally would just cut the whole top off or maybe make a coronal cut half way down to under the contam and then a side cut to just take that middle portion out..

Here is a quick update from this afternoon. So far the spot doesn't seem to be growing very fast so I am going to give it a couple more days to see what happens.

To be clear I have gone through the referenced link as well as a few other contamination threads on other sites prior to posting here. Since I didn't really find anything definitive I decided to ask for advice.

My first thought was to try and cut it out but being a newb I figured it would give the opportunity of the contam to spread easier.

If it doubles in size over the next couple days I will try to cut but since it SEEMS to be ok atm I am going to leave it alone.

Thanks to all that have provided assistance
