A foaf is having a hard time drying his shrooms for preservation. A lot of them are developing mold before they completely dry. He's using the damp-rid tek with a tupperware bowl. What should he do? Is there a better or faster way for him to dry them?

ive heard that putting mushrooms in front of a fan somehow decreases their potency. is this just a myth? (i dont see how it could be true)

well..im sure what people refer to that as the mushroom cap is dropping the spores..and when you put them infront of a fan..that some of the spores will blow away!! or maybe everyone is talking about heat...heat is bad for mushies

Confused, blowing away spores = decrease in potency?
Fan producing heat?
Heat indeed will break down psilocin quickly, so don't cook them or put them in a drier that uses a heating element, if that is all you have, open up the drier and disable the heating element (unplug the thing first:) Just use a normal box fan and let it blow over the little guys for 24 hours, then place into a sealed container with a dessicant.

Ok, I got a question about this fanning. I know it should be pretty straight forward, just stick em in front of a fan, but my question is: Does the room they are being fanned in have to very open, or could I stick them in front of a fan inside a closed closet? The idea i'm trying to get at, is a pretty inconspicuous drying method. the closed container with dessicant ain't gunna be a problem, but the fanning seems like it could be. anyone got any suggestions?

shwowsh is it pretty simple: put them in front of or even better on top of a fan. just turn your fan straight up and prop it on some books or whatever you have around. a screen may help to lay on top of fan depending on the size of the mush. give it 24 hours and off to the desiccant chamber. a closet should be fine more depends on the humidity in your area as to how fast they dry.

and you folks talking of spores blowing in the wind, if spores were of any value in the potency of shrooms then they would not be sold. they contain no active chems. just the blueprint for constructing them.
