uhm , in an earlier post i posted a picture of this same casing and now its been in the fruitting chamber for 3 days allready , and i see absolutely no difference , the strain is EQ temp and hummidity are fine , this is my first casing so i really dont know what to expect

this is a pic of it its been like this for 3 days already , the thing that disturbs me is all those water drops on the mycelium

you impatiant Shroomer, give it some time and it will pin. but remember DONT spray the mycelium or shrooms, they will get water logged.

its that `my problem , cause i havent misted ,so i think< the casing is loosing too much water. is this bad? could it lead to my casing dead? cause since its filled with water droms i cant do anithing but wait

Dude When I did my casing with plain verm I only misted it once and stuck it int the pod, and 6 days later i had pins. Give it time......

well it looks nice and healthy i would ease up on the water thoe that is asking for a problem.....just give it a week , mostlikly less and you willl have some nice pins on that.....like i said very good job looks very nice

hmmm. first off, 3 days is nothing. expect to wait another week.
second, it's too wet - dab with a clean paper towel, and leave it alone for a few days.
and third - you are in serious danger of that overlaying, i.e. it has colonised far too much of the surface already. i like my casings to look like this at birth:

i'd consider adding a superthin extra casing layer myself to keep it in check (1/4 inch or less), though others may disagree.

yea i thought about the paper towel thing , but everyone told me not to but im still considering it , and also that mini layer , do you think that sprinkling some 50/50 might help me?

if i were you, i'd do nothing til you get three or four opinions, then take your pick. like i said, extra casing layers aren't exactly recommended by many.

if you're really lucky, someone like anno or joshua or magash will drop by and comment. or even roadkill, now he's been sighted alive. i'm just the newbie mod.

uhm , ok i couldnt wait  :crazy2: sso i whent and sterilized paper towel and put it on the casing and took it of after abosorving a bit , but ass of the sprinkling i will consider shirleys advice and wait a bit for other opinios  :wink:

I would have increased the air exchange to evaporate the excess condensation. I still would suggest that to keep more condensation from forming. If you fruit it as is you will get a prolific flush, but your casing layer will suffer in later flushes. If you patch, I'd say you would only put off the same condition you have (over colonisation) by a couple of days.

I suggest fruiting as is and recasing lightly after your second flush.
