Incubator

It'll start getting colder soon so I'm going to need an incubator for my jars . So I'm thinking about what is the best way to do this. Since I don't want to spent any extra cash on it I got three option: a light bulb, heating pad or a heat bomb. I got a plug-in thermostat kinda like a timer but with a temp sensor to which I can connect all the three above although that water heather for the heat bomb has a build-in thermostat don't know if I can trust that though. I was thinking about building an insulated box with one of the above to heat it up to 18°C - 25°C ( 64-77°F) What do you all recommend I should build. Any suggestions welcome. PS: It's impossible for me to keep my room at a constant temp since I use a wood burner for heating and when I'm not there the temps drop dramatically (around freezing point if it's really cold out.

Nice Phallus gif. Have you considered a TiT? I've never used one, but people seem to like them.

Yeah but not really an option cause I don't have a submersible heater and It happens a lot that I'm away for a few days or more and when the water evaporates it can cause the water heater I have to burn out and the rest of my home... With the other options I can design something that's pretty save to leave for a few days. I'm thinking about the light bulb witch has kind of a fast reaction time instead of the heating pad that takes a time to heat up and cool down again but then again I don't have any experience with any of them axcept the heating pad with sucks big time. But maybe I could set that up to the side instead of the bottom or something... Edit: as for the gif: http://i.imgur.com/VEoKlFY.gif

My incubator consists of one of those leg heating mats and a plastic tote on an on/off timer. They stay at a constant 75 degrees internally no problem

At what temperature should I start using an incubator?? The temps drop below 15°C (59°F) at night, day time is still good I think around 17°C (63°F). I don't mind it takes a little longer for colonization but I also don't want it stop or stall (or wait for summer). Quote:

Yeah but when I'm on role, sometimes I just keep rolling... But yeah I could test it out and see how long it takes for the water to evaporate.
