Strange partially inside out caps - with pics

Hi fellow shroomers Been a long time since I posted.
I seem to be getting a lot of this sort of weird partial inside out caps lately. I am wondering if this is a genetic thing or environmental?
I have been growing PFtek/BRF/multispore. I started off with a print from a sponsor here. Then took a print from one of those mushrooms. I used that print to grow a new batch and took prints from there again. Then grew from those prints. These pics are all from the “3rd generation” , if I can call it that, that’s currently fruiting.
I notice that each grow I get more of these odd mushrooms. In the pic you can see that they start off (3 different cakes in the image) with the cap like that and develop from there. I have them on 9 out of 12 cakes at the moment
I eat them with a smile but any thoughts would be great peace

It seems like the cap knew that the other one was underneath so it lifted itself to allow more room for the other one to grow.

How do you explain the new baby mushrooms growing with the identical mutation?

mushrooms grow in some really tight clusters on a regular basis without doing that. They are just mutants plain and simple.

If you guys want a link to a thread where you can discuss the tendency of certain strains to grow mutants, click here.

Nice fingernails brah. And that's a sick mutant!
As far as this topic, I've had atleast 5 maybe 10 shrooms grow like this out of my grow.
We can all agree they're mutants but are they mutants with a cause?!

Yeah I've had a few of those fsho wouldn't worry about it. Mine seem to have been real stalled out when I got those....like real slow growth into rosecomb, or like a 1.5th flush, could tell right from pin that they were abmormal. Mutants are cool, so are sick pinsets. It's all fun and games until someone knocks off perfectly healthy pins off a cake right?! Found three little buddies on my perlite today must've been the gf taking over misting duties. What ya gonna do
