Any banter is welcome. How often do you change proxies, any favorite sites for updated anonymous proxy lists, how do you like to check your proxy, links to proxy testers, any advice welcome. I'm just curious as to your practices v. my own. Looking for new ideas and cold hard truth. Thankx.

http://proxify.com/ - free web based proxy service
http://www.publicproxyservers.com/index.html - list of updated proxies, their type, country and date last tested.
http://ip.discoveryvip.com/ - I don't like the way this page is setup, looks cheap. But I do like the little world map that plots your IP address.
I'm seeing a rise in proxy services. The problem is that it only takes a few folks to abuse them then they're shut off to the public.

I have wingate running on a dedicated ip 25kpbs. I opened it once without requiring authentification and it was ass raped.

I like to randomly stumble upon a source of anonymous proxies. I really like to search for a new source of the proxy once a week. And change proxies usually several times a weeks. I do the same with proxy testers; each one seems to produce different results. I don't like to set any routines at all. I say mix it up all the time, and everyday. It's repetition, which is traceable.

I've been using this site Lana mentioned to check my IP while using anonymous proxies. http://ip.discoveryvip.com
Although I wanted to pass along this good find. http://www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/test_your_ip_nocache
It seems somehow with Java enabled on the broswer your IP address is traceable even while using an anonymous proxy. Test your self and stay safe
PS. They also have a nice proxy list

You would be suprised at how many companies track your online activity, and it's natural for some of us to be concerned about it, because the information that is sent from your computer to these companies can be quite revealing. So hackers and folk buying paraphanalia online should be wary
