Your favorite mushroom tripping spot!
    #2054090 - 10/29/03 03:52 PM (20 years, 5 months ago)

Lets hear the weather conditions/temperature, time of year, location, with friends or w/o, how many people? What do you like to do when you are on them?

here is mine...
i like cloudy, dark, cool afternoon or morning/midmorning days. i like to trip in the forest/anywhere breathtakingly beautiful while sober works great when on shrooms. i like to trip with about 2 good friends. i like to sit somewhere in nature and have a snack and share good times with my friends and just think about how wonderful everything is.

also, warm summer evenings are great too. i had a fantastic trip at a local park nearing sunset. being inside sucks on shrooms, i don't know why people do that!!! i want to trip in the rain some day.

so...lets hear yours!

there is a place near me called tyler state park. it's in bucks county, pennsylvania. it is very large and full of woods and rolling feilds. a large creek runs through it, and there are alot of secluded, natural, peaceful spots. is it not far from my house, and far enough from major roads to be nice and quiet. it is a beautiful place. tripping here during the last 4-5 hours before sunset on a nice may afternoon is like nothing else.

there is another place somewhere along the appalachian trail (probably alot of places like this... any of the many rocky outcroppings along the ridges) that is extremely secluded and open to the sky. there are no lights, no noise, and no pollution. you can look out to the valley floor below or to the sky above. tripping here on a clear night = awesomeness.

there's also a place near me called byrn mawr (sp?) cathedral. it is a large tract of rolling grassed feilds and flower beds. there are 3 huge cathedrals in different places on the property. this place is pretty cool too.

also... near trenton there's a place called 'grounds for sculpture'. it's a large property that is home to alot of gardens and some really neat sculpture. it's a good place for mushrooms.

there is the delaware canal (runs along the delaware upriver from trenton on the pennsy side), the northern portions of which are really cool.

if you live in the philadelphia area, all of these places are definitely worth a trip.

pretty much any place of natural beauty, with the right weather conditions, is a great place to trip. i'd like to trip in some museams sometime too.

One of the last remote coastlines of Oahu, Hawaii--the eastern side about a mile below the Turtle Bay Hilton on the northernmost point. Great camping, great fishing, occasionally some epic surf. With shrooms I like to start mid-day or early afternoon, around a full moon. It's lined up pretty damn nicely a few times. Snorkeling while tripping is great. I'm either alone or with one or two of the few mushroom-friendly friends I have over there.

i've been to that turtle bay hilton. snorkeling stoned is the extent of my psychedellic snorkeling experiences. the tropics are so damn awsome! me thinks i'll sneak some cubes in my pocket while taking my next trip to the islands.

Well, now you have a spot. Just walk down the beach from the hotel about a mile--beyond the next lava point. There's a small ironwood forest and a big, slopy beach. I wish I was back in the islands. Cruising around on the adjacent golf course is also nice, at night in the full moon, it's all so...manicured. Enjoy.

There is a park about 5 minutes away from me by foot.

This park sits in the middle of a very wealthy subdivision, which is set back from the surrounding metropolis.  In order to get to the park, you have to go several blocks deep into this yuppie-ass neighborhood, filled with multi-million dollar houses.  Most people don't even know the park is there; although it is technically a public park, it is treated as a private park by the surrounding residents.

The whole nieghborhood is a forest comprised of large estates.  At the center of it, there is a clearing, on one side of which is a huge hill.  This is the park.  Forest and jogging trails surround the park.  There is a huge meadow in the center.  On one side of the meadow is a hill, at the crest of which is a huge concrete ring.  There is a huge marble staircase set into the side of the hill, and each stair in the staircase is engraved with famous philosophical quotes.

At the top of the hill there is this huge stone circle, kind of a railing/seating.  You can see the whole park and the surrounding streets from the top of the hill.  In the center of the stone circle, there is a metal bar set into the ground, with two metal circles on each end.  You stand in the circle on one end of the metal bar, and your friend stands in the circle at the other end.  When you talk to eachother, the metal produces this wierd resonant echo.  Very trippy.

We used to use this place as a group gathering point to smoke out and stuff.  Plus, in my teenage years, I've gotten more than a few blowjobs on the park benches in the forest surrounding the clearing

These days I use that place as a kind of sanctuary for outdoor meditiation.  I often walk there from my house when I am tripping, to breathe fresh air and be in nature, and look at the stars.  The top of that hill definitely has a real "sanctuary" feel to it.

For a mixture of insight and pleasure I'll go in the forest, by a stream or waterfall or something like that. For true journeys in the mind I'll stay inside in darkness without any distractions, in quiet comtemplation (it wont be quiet inside my head tho).
