stalled mycellium in mycobags
    #2053476 - 10/29/03 01:48 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

my bag were doing great, but after i rearranged the myc around to the parts that were not colonized it's stalled. When moving the myc around should i break up the clumps to the same consistency as the substrate or should i just rearrange the clumps as they are?

i had the same exact problem, ive got 4 bags cultivating right now and when the mycelium developed in patches i crumbled it up and mixed it in with the rest of the substrate, you did the right thing, just be patient, and raising the temperature might help them colonize faster, keep temp at about 80-85 if possible.

yes, patience. Give it a week after you break it up. If it hasn't helped, try a little more. I broke up some bags a few weeks ago and they are just now starting to take off again, but they haven't been in optimal conditions. I didn't do too much, just sort of spread everything around a little.

is there condensation on the insides of the bag? If not it might be too dry.

Yup, if the verm isn't sticking to the sides of the bag anymore, it could be a sign.

some of the grain substrate is stuck to the sides of the bag near the top. do i need to try to get it down in the bag for the myc to introduce itself?

If it is just flakes and stuff, don't worry. If it is a sizable piece of substrate, get it back with the rest of the substrate.

If it is at the top of the bag, the myc probably won't get to it.
