that's probably best. after all it's not something one "speculates" anyways, is it.
but it's still intriguing to me. i plan on getting some old Indian literature. i want to read the Ramayana and Mahabharata. maybe i'll do some mediating and light some mad incense everywhere, and see what's up when i do.

i feel like people are way too intentional about meditating and they screw it up in the process. all the reading of books about how to do it, lighting incense, burning candles, being in just the right setting.
none of it matters, to me. all that matters is that i can sit in a comfortable position and focus on my breath

oh i know, i do it all the time. but not for an exponentially long amount of time.
i've been getting high for years and doing small meditation here, there... but i've never done a whole hour or anything like that... two hours... mantra...
i figure... that this all serves to possibly enhance the experience somehow... unless you going to try and be utmost serious, and do it Buhdda style, in silence.
for the setting there, you'd only have so few options: a tree, a rock, outside somewhere? your porch? or perhaps your bed/comfortable spot. just can't fall asleep. gotta concentrate.
all that stuff seems a bit out of my league. but i don't think one needs to do that stuff to get benefits from a bit of contemplation on the breath, and concentration on the chakras.
but i do believe more of an experience can be achieved, though, morrow. just have to be "dedicated". though, to what, i'm not sure. i've to read any of the sources that would indicate the essentially properties of these things, and how i would aim to produce and achieve the same sentiments as indicated in the apparent knowledge this "sage wisdom".

I don't know much about chakras, but breathing exercises and yoga stretches make me feel really good. The first time I really sat down and focused on meditative breathing, I did so for about 30 minutes. Breathing in, holding for 7 seconds, breathing out and holding for 7 seconds. When I got up I felt a huge rush of energy.
I also like putting myself into a trance through chanting and using a makeshift gong. Learned that from watching an Alan Watts video long ago. It feels good to get out of your head once in a while.
I believe that chakras must exist, but I can see their meaning being strayed from the point over time and me not really comprehending it fully. More to read about I suppose, but I'd like to keep a firm understanding of what people mean when they talk about them.
