First post! - strange growth

Moderators please feel free to move this to wherever you feel it would be most appropriate. I consider this to be a contaminate so I posted here.
The intent of this thread is to identify exactly what this is so I know what to do with it.
I saw one other thread on this site where someone else had something similar grow... there was no conclusion as to what this was. (that was made public on this site.) From reading the other thread, samples were sent to "workman" ? and the thread died from there.
It's a mushroom of some sort as best I can tell but it's certainly not what it was labeled to be. I knew something was very, very, wrong when I birthed this cake and 48 hours later had almost 100 "spikes" off this cake. These growths are white and have an appearance of having a cap forming. I must say they have a very strong and pleasant smell of mushrooms.
If anyone has any idea what this is please let me know.

What kind of chamber do you have it in? Build a SGFC to spec if you do not have one.
They are either : Reaching for air because they don't have enough FAE. Spikes can sometimes mean a bacterial infection.

A special SCFG was constructed for this until it can be identified.
I know the pic is terrible, it is only meant to illustrate the amount of growth in less than 24 hours.
The growth is entirely white, there is no distinguishable brown cap forming.

I've done my research and I am lost on this one.
Anyone want to jump in and take a stab at what this is or isn't?
Here is a link to the thread I was talking about from 9 years ago if anyone is interested. This guy had something similar happen.

Do what he did.. Fruit that bitch and be ready to send some spores to the proper people!
There was never a end judgement on that thread, it would be funny to see it pop up 8 years later.

Awesome, thank you!!! How did I manage to find a thread from 9 years ago and missed this one?!
So it is likely that if other cakes were made from the same batch of spores they are all going to grow this contaminate?
If you still want some pictures let me know, I'm going to take this monstrosity outside and kill it with fire.

Pictures would be great if you can get one in focus (try the macro setting on your camera). The batch of spores might not be to blame. It might be an environmental contaminate.

I'll certainly do that for you, thanks for putting this to rest for me.
It amazes me how fast these grow. It's grown even more since this morning.
I'll wait until you get the pics you want to do the deed. Let me know if these are OK or if you want some others. The flash really makes these look grey(er) than they appear to the eye. I took a few with no flash.

Much better with natural lighting and the dark contrast.
Time for some fire.

Agreed. It looks awesome, but I'm sorry it's a contamination. It looks like a sea urchin or anemone!
