if you leave the top off of your terrarium, then the humidity in the terrarium will be the same as the outside air. You better hope that you're living in a very moist house. Why don't you just get a bigger box?
By the type of question you are asking here, I don't think you are going to have much luck growing shrooms.

I agree, a shoe box is too small. Even some of my smallest fruits would burst from a shoe box. This one here was about to burst from my spare room and creep to the bathroom:

Read the MMGG or something before actually trying to grow mushrooms.

Shoe box is to small for cakes. Read up on shroom wizard's tek if you want to use a shoe box.
