Another Simple Pleasure by Redstorm: The Omelette Sandwich
    #2047318 - 10/27/03 02:17 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

I was going to make myself an egg in a nest today, when I saw that I had pepper jack cheese and ham in the fridge. I fiured I would be innovative and try to cook something neat up. Here's what you do:

1. Take 2 pieces of bread, butter one side of each
2. Slice cheese (good cheese, not american) and place it on unbuttered side of one piece
3. Place buttered side of that bread down on frying pan, heat it just enough so you melt the cheese, and golden the bread
4. Put other slice of bread down on frying pan, buttered side down. Spoon the beaten contents of 1/2 to 1 egg on the unbuttered side. The bread will soak up the egg, so keep piling it on.
5. When it seems like the bread is getting golden and the eggs are almost cooked through, flip, the piece of bread, cooking the eggs entirely throughout.
6. Place the two pieces of bread together, buttered side out, and enjoy.

You can pretty much put anything inside the sandwich that you like with eggs. If you put meat in, make sure you cook it first

I know its not the most wild idea in the world, but its fun to come up with new stuff every so often.

~Peace

"""Acclimation to raw meat: "At first it needed flavoring, but it wasn't bad. After that I developed a taste for raw beef and lamb fairly quickly. One time I salted some veal ribs and left them out. In about 2 days they tasted delicious, like cheese almost. It had a funky but not all together nasty smell.""""

Mmmmm.....
