ive taken clones going for 7 years. ive also done 4th gen g2g. the myclia often will just stall out. and after a certain amount of years like 5 plus its hit or miss. the mycelia may just decide to take a break and do nothing after a shake. often times when you get to the point of colonizing bulk subs, it maybe coloinze 99 percent. and then it just won't finish that last little spot. but taking clone material to that length of time is possible. i just kept fruiting it to see how long i could go. and well, 7 years was my number. that was burma strain. ive taken tex and tasmanian to 5 years. strains like pe and ape won't go for more than a year for me. without showing signs of wither.
if your not getting enough fae, the mycelia may look singed on the edges with an off color. not fluffy white but just off color. you can visibly see if there is healthy mycelia next to it that looks rhizo. it won't look rhizo as much. it will look different. wish i had a picture for you. wait i do.

Damn..
I think my tub is contaminated.
FAE was perfect, but only 1 little cluster of shrooms were growing out of the substrate.
Look again today and the mycellium has turned yellowish in parts of the tub.
Bad luck

Any way to fix it?
Mist the sides maybe?

I don't have anything to take a picture with that I feel comfortable using.
I didn't use a casing layer, and the ones that are sprouting are on the sides of the substrate. That might be the issue.
Should have used a casing layer :|

Casing layer helps, but if your tub cake isn't fruiting on top without one, you are still having some dryness issue. Try tuning the poly-fil better. Some people take advice they read from certain users who purport the benefits of super-loose poly in the top holes, but this really isn't good for everyone, especially with good local air circulation and mediocre/low ambient humidity. Many people will experience dryness like that. Start with plenty of poly in ALL holes, and lighten it up to get the partial drying circles around the holes, removing a bit more from the top holes than the bottom with each calibration.
When experiencing drying issues, or no pins on top, misting will help the condition. Although it may be too late, at least for that flush, and possibly for the health of the top mycelium altogether.

I went ahead and misted.
I have another tub that I put a casing layer on and I'll start out with poly in all holes.
Thanks for the help guys.

Check This out, I started seeing my first pins the other day. now 2 days later they have multiplied a lot.
Im wondering, can I expect more pins to form? Do they come at different times? Is there any way to make them grow faster? What can I do to yield bigger fruits? ( Im guessing genetics is what it is?)

OK well riddle me this.
For you guys, about how long does it take from when you get pins to full maturation? On average.
