Yeah haha. My mom wouldn't be very happy if I did it not. Been saving up money since I moved to Tennessee with my girlfriend and we have been trying to save up money to move out but it's hard when I'm the only one with a job lol but should be moving out within a month or two. I'm excited about my first grow.

As long as it's a 6500k/daylight CFL bulb then ya a desk lamp is fine I like using these so I can just attach them directly to my tubs.
The desk lamp I have is kinda like that. It clamps to the side of a desk, I may pick one of those up though. Desk lamp is kinda top heavy to attach to the tub.

So I'm thinking about using a 13x9 deep disposable ban pan and try a bulk substrate grow. Start colonization in the disposable baking pAn with closed up with an elevated clear lid. And when it's time to fruit, placing the whole pan in my SGFC. I know the baking pan would have to have some liner to it.
Would this work? I've read about it alil but on here but nothing that got into it with that much detail. Just wanted to get your guys opinions.
Btw this is the tek I was going u be using to help me through it, just to point in the right way because obviously I'm doing some things different.

If u plan on fruiting a 13x9" brick and am understanding right, that's not a good idea. A 9" deep sub will go anaerobic at the core and contaminate IME

It will not be 9" deep. The 13x9 is length and width of the pan, not depth. Sorry if I didn't word that right.

Haha. Wish I was stoned!
But I'm stuck between doing cakes for my first grow or bulk substrate.
Cakes would be a safer bet but i feel pretty confident that I could do bulk substrate just fine. Go big or go home, right? Lol

That's the only reason I want to do them, for the experience and to at least say I did.

Quick question guys. If I were to do the bulk substrate in the disposable baking pan, when it was time to fruit, would I use perlite in my SGFC below the baking pan still?

Thanks guy! Would damp-rid from walmart be a good desiccant?
Also would putting the jar in the freezer or fridge make them last any longer?

you don't need damp rid, Ive never used desiccant, cracker dry in dehydrator load them up into a jar use an appropriate sized jar, they'll stay dry for at least 6 months because I've kept them that long and they're just as good. The fridge or freezer is pointless

So I decided to bump my thread. I'm start my first bulk substrate grow next week! I'm so excited! I'm also I'm the process of building my own mini greenhouse! Have the shelf and ploy plAstic measured and ready to giver the shelves. Just have to get my trays, one disc fogger set up. And I'm good to go.

With this shelf, I plan to attach extra poles to the top so I can actually use the top shelf.
I've been reading so much about Marthas and homemade greenhouse. Im just ready to start using what I know.
