Affirmative Action in college

My opinion on why affirmative action in college environments hurts the educational process:
I have gone to college and I can say with certainty that when you admit students who are slower than others, you bring down the quality of the education in the institution. The professors must make an effort to slow down the learning so that that the dumber kids can keep up, which in turn lessens the quality and intensity of the education for the smarter kids. Or, if the professors do not slow down the learning, they must spend exhorbinant amounts of time trying to help the slower students. To put it bluntly; allowing dumb kids into a college hurts the quality of education that is offered to all.
If I was an employer looking to hire, I would be less likely to hire someone from a university that practises affirmative action. I would worry that that person had been exposed to an academic environment where the education had not been optimal, thus making that person less qualified. If the prospective employee was a member of a minority group, I would worry if that person had been accepted to the university just because of the color of their skin instead of academic ability, thus making it less likely that they have the appropriate skill and knowledge to succeed in the work environment. I wouldn't want to hire people who were given a free ride and who were never made to demonstrate the required academic ability that was needed to succeed in the college environment. I wouldn't want to hire dumb people.
Any thoughts on this?

Right on the money.
To those who disagree, you can have the affirmative action med school grads. I want the person with the best skills and grades working on me.
Nice job RF.

yes exactly, it's either everyone slows down or the "slow" kids are forced to take remedial classes, which inevitably ends up segregating the student body, which of course defeats the purpose of affirmitive action. I'm against affirmitive action as it stands now. I could see myself supporting it but there needs to be some changes. it should be about giving an opportunity to intelligent students willing to work hard, not about installing dumb kids in college by "bumping" test scores or setting racial quotas for admission.

i fully support racial quotas. if your soo much more competant than the "slow" kids you will advance much quicker in the workplace.

In general, I don't believe it is right to give something to somebody that has not earned it, merely because of the color of their skin. To me that is racism.
I believe that it is quite apparent that slow kids hurt the educational environment in college.
And when a white person advances in the workplace and a black person doesn't, a lawsuit is not far behind(even if the white person deserved the promotion and the black person is an idiot). Race is such a touchy issue nowadays and affirmative action has only inflamed it.

The issue between males and females in college is also out of hand. Having the ratio of girls to boys enrolled be the same as in sports is ludacris. Ive seen girls offered full scholarships for sports they had no experence in; mainly rowing.
