Injecting water after inoculation?
    #2042567 - 10/25/03 05:31 PM (20 years, 3 months ago)

It's been a few days since my cousin's cousin inoculated his jars, but they look a little too dry. He was wondering if you could inject sterilized water into them to increase the water content without harming anything?

i thought that my first batch of jars was too dry...they weren't,a lot of people make the same assumption on there first grow.
just leave them alone,if you made your substrate properly they will have pleanty of water.

I concur. They'll probably be fine. Injecting water just adds the risk of contamination, although I've done it before without problems. I'd leave em alone. They should eventually colonize just fine.

Actually, he's fairly experienced at growing. This isn't even close to being his first grow. This batch just looks dryer than normal for some reason. Also, popcorn is what is being used for the spawn(not BRF or anything else).

sorry you didn't say that you were using popcorn...but the same rule applys....if you prepared your popcorn in the right manner then they will be fine.

I think they will be fine, if you prepared the substrate properly. But you already know if you are going to add water or not, so you got to do what you got to do. But I would leave them atleast for a couple more days.

yeah man, dont be crazy. the jars may look dry but I bet they have plenty of H20. don't jump to conclusions too fast. I freaked the same way. just chill and let the jars breathe. get that C02 out. thats what I did and they sped up like crazy.

And the survey says........let them be! You can always dunk/cold shock when you birth them. If they do happen to be too dry, colonization will take just a bit longer.
