A good Hygrometer???
    #2042894 - 10/25/03 10:05 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

Has anyone had any experience with a very well built hyrometer or humidity gauge?? I had one that works ok, but like most cheapo's it reads "HI" when it goes above like 90%rH. Anyways I've seen some brands like Cooper that make hand held ones but I believe they are more for "on the spot" readings. How much could one expect to spend on a good, long lasting meter that can with stand the high humidity in the terranium. (my friend wants to know) lol

I saw some on eBay...as people can tell my fiance and me are usually on the shroomery or eBay! lol You just got to watch for what you want and keep up with that last minute bidding but there's alot of good deals on there. We have done alot of buying and selling on eBay and like the shroomery most of those people are good to do business with but always check their ratings also. I personally don't know alot about brands on hyrometers or humidity gauges but most sellers on there give you a good description. Good luck on your search!

I don't think they're good or worth anything. If you want something accurate it's going to cost you a lot of money. If theres lots of condensation on the sides, its very humid. Simple as that, you don't have to know the exact %.

True, but my friend would like to know for peace of mind. Anyways he found this little meter for $20 at radio shack and its supposidly reads between 20%-%99rH so that works for him.
