this was just one of the many found in southeastern pa. they were all growing together like about maybe 100 of them, and arranged like a bloomin onion if you know what i mean. they are partially dried due to the late discovery. a spore print im trying right now but im not sure how to do it becuase of the way the gills are positioned. these were growing near a root, and partially in woodchips

Last year I saw several different kinds of mushrooms that looked a bit like that. They were ordinary mushrooms that dried out as they were trying to expand from buttons. The result was severely distorted mushrooms, sort of like those. (Last year we had the driest year ever recorded here)

If you found a cluster of them, they could be very distorted Honey Mushrooms.

If that's an environmentally distorted mushroom, it'll be a lot tougher to identify that normal.

Happy mushrooming!
