Dunking and Some ?s

My friend has a spawn bag thats almost ready to be cased.
He wants to dunk it.
His question is, is it necessary to put it in the fridge, because he is not looking to cold-shock cause it is still going to be cased. Or is it still okay to do?

His other question is after he cases it, should the cases sit on perite in the terrarium or on what?

The casings can sit on the perlite. Too much perlite might be overkill for a casing though. Put the colonized substrate in a water with water in it and place it somewhere overnight. Case it in the morning.

I don't recomend dunking right before casing though. Sounds a lil too wet, like something is going to contam.

yea, cold shock is a must, dunk in water, then put in container of water in fridge for 12 hours, take out, roll in vermiculite, mist the whole thing a bit then into the fruitin chamber and watch and wait
