String Cheese
    #2040343 - 10/24/03 06:35 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

SCI changed my life at this show :sun: I consider it a blessing and a curse...the blessing is immense in the way they created a feeling and a state of mind that I feel I will never seperate from nor would I ever want to...the curse is that they have also rendered me almost unable to communicate in normal social circles anymore because so few of those circles come anywhere close to seeing what you can see, feeling what you can feel or hearing what you hear any longer, it's just different now..but, now that I've typed that and read it..maybe it's not really a curse at all, just a new mission in my life to try and share it with as many as I can

 to everything you said  that night in the Suwannee standing in the middle of a feeling that I had never experienced so intimately with sooooo, so many happy souls (gettin' chills now).....and they broke into Joyful Sound :sun:  :sun:  then it came to "lift your voice to the heavens, make a joyful sound" and the flood of white light enveloped every soul standing in that field and brought all the kharma and energy together and the voices did lift all as one "na na na naaaaa na na nanaaa - MAKE A JOYFUL SOUND"......AND THAT WAS THE VERY MOMENT!!!!! I knew right then and there my life had changed and it would never be the same again

string cheese is Awesome, that being said i so desperately want to see them live -- it seems a lot more mellow than what the dead n phish shows have become lately

They're a fun band to see live. I've seen them four times now and I can't wait to see them again. What is the specific date of that show you're talking about BluMonkee? Just curious. I'd like to check out the setlist. Also, you may be able to download it from the Live Music Archive.

It was the 4/20 show in Suwannee, Fl. Easter Sunday 2003  You can get the setlist at www.friendsofcheese.com  I was just back out at Suwannee for the Great Southern Music Harvest and afoaf was hangin' at the campsite with us and I did my part to make his weekend a little better and what did he do for me the next morning?!?!??! Comes over to the campsite with the entire 4/20 show on 3 cd's and says "Here ya' go man, thought you might like to have these, enjoy"

They seem to have that effect on people. _JOE_ and I had free tickets to see them where we live, and we had never heard of them. We figured since they were free tickets, we might as well go check them out. We didn't have anything better to do that night. So, we packed a bowl and headed out. Much to our surprise, the show AND the audience were AMAZING! It was such a peaceful, laid-back atmosphere. We climbed to the top of the colliseum and kicked back, smoked another bowl and watched the grand show unfold below us. From that moment on, we were hooked! Several people passed by us and sat down to toke and visit. It was a very spiritual experience, to say the least. Needless to say, if they are ever back in this neck of the woods again, we are SO there! Glad you had a great time!

String cheese is great, but I only have 7 or 8 shows downloaded and have only seen them twice. I love the Live Music Archive, always getting shows from it.. got any suggestions of a really good SCI show or super versions of a song that can be found on it? I'd really like to get alot more familiar with the band. Thanks.

Yes! Doenload this show immediately: March 4th, 2000, Wilma Theatre, Missoula, MT. It is the best SCI show I've heard. I haven't heard too many myself but trust me this show is incredible and it's a sound board recording so the sound quality is top notch. Download it from the archive and tell me what you think.

SCI is having a new years eve show in Chicago this year. Might as well count on me being there.
