Hay is green stuff that's been cut and dried, like alfalfa, timothy...you can find it in the pet store as rabbit food. Straw is pale yellow and is what's left after the grass has died and gone to seed. Straw is not very nutritious but hay is. See the "great timothy hay bale cubensis method" in grow/find for more info.

Any hay will work for growing P.cubensis. But, it must be sterilized or pasteurized before you can introduce any mush spawn to it. You can do a search in this form, it you want more info - many people have worked with hay in the past.
