I would say Hiwa, I love that one. Right now I'm drinking some Papa Ele Ele, the most fast acting one I have ever tried. Have to admit I havent tried some on your list though. And I wouldn't call Vanuatu a variety, since there are over 60 Vanuatuan varieties. Palarasul is really powerful, but in general I like the Hawaiian and Fijian kavalactone profiles better.

Which one above is the Hawaiian black kava? I got a cutting when I was in Kona from Amy's. She gave it to me free. When got back home I planted it and it sprouted and in a week I had a small plant. A month later it's pretty big. It's a pretty plant that I really admire the looks of.

Hiwa is a Hawaiian variety. Note that it is not the same as "spotted Hiwa", which is another Hawaiian variety.

If anyone lives in FL there is a Nakamal in boca raton.. the only Nakamal in the US i believe.
A Nakamal is a place that serves kava. Its a really cool place, and from all the searching i have done they have kava for sale at a decent price.
The Nakamal

Well I used to drink milk, and now I dont at all, I wont bother explaining why, but lets just say milk is not an option
Back when milk was my friend , I got some 'Awa Mahakea kava from a friend who got it from kickbackwithkava.com
and after trying that kava in MILK!!!! I feel in love with kava
Until I used THAT KIND OF KAVA , with MILK all my kava experiments sucked!!!!!!!
So.............lechin???? its like soy fat or something right???
how much does it increase the effects??? also some people talk of mixing rum, well I dont want to do that, but how easy is it to make an extract???
although what I hope to hear is that lechtin will make a strong drink, I tried the same Kava without milk the other day and it wasent the same
what do you KAVA junkies think????:)

Lecithin is an emulsifier which helps getting the kava lactones out of the pulp. Some olive oil along with the lecithin is a good idea. Milk contains both emulsifiers and fat, that is why it is effective. I haven't tried the lecithin /oil method yet, but I will try it this week, since I've heard some theories that some stuff in milk may hinder the absorbation of the lactones to a certain degree (but it works really good though ) I will get my bottle of lecithin tomorrow, I'll report the results.

I use rice milk because I do not drink diary milk either. The quality is not as good with milk, but its better than water for whatever reason. Anyone ever try coconut milk? I would assume that it is similar to rice milk because they are both water-based.
Like Young pointed out, lecithin and oil are probably your best options, however.
Good luck be sure to post your results.

rice milk huh
I love that stuff anyway!
what about soy milk????
not enough fat??(then again how much fat could rice milk have)
I will try the rice milk, I hope it takes ALOT more out then water
cause months ago when I tried this kava with milk , I didnt drink milk then either, at least not until I "cheated" myself and drank it with kava
and it was REAL strong I used 1\2 a cup of "mahakea" and after trting the same dose in straight water, that I mashed in the strainer bag for 5 minutes, there is no cmparison
oh ya , I added a bit of oil that time to(with the milk)

Well I dont drink milk , but tonight I HAD to So I used 3 cups of water , some OIL, vanilla , pineapple juice, 8FAT teaspoons of kava !!MMM 2 cups or so of SKIM milk I know I should have used 2% but thats all we had(skim) I figured the oil would help the fat content this isnt as good as when I used 2% milk but it is good this is the first time in years I have drank milk though and I plan it to be the last So I am going to try other things soon, like my own tinctures and a extract from what I read on the net with the bottle of iso I have and the kava I have , I should be able to make somehting real sweet in no time at all. (and my tincutes will be made with 50% alcohol of course) peace

"But it is Kava's ability to deliver a delicious combination of calmness and alertness that has put it on the list of top selling herbs to combat the major disease of industrialized society: anxiety. German clinical studies published in 1990 revealed that kawain, one of the kava lactones, is as effective in relieving anxiety as benzodiazepene. In large doses Kava produces a type of euphoria and for this reason it is still touted as an aphrodisiac in the South Pacific."
"kawain, one of the kava lactones, is as effective in relieving anxiety as benzodiazepene."
I BELIVE that for SURE!!!!

hmm, the lecithin was out of stock at the supplier, estimated time 3 weeks... So I'll have to go with milk for another few weeks. Here are some pics of some Palarasul (Vanuatu) whole roots, from 7-10 year old plants. Really stinky and super potent
