I recommend MIT open courseware for the serious minded. Very high quality. Khan academy on the other hand varies in quality. The guy who does the videos is an engineer by training so choose wisely.

I just learned about Google scholar.
It is just like regular Google search, but you are shown results pertaining to scholarly journals.

http://ebook.farm has the most extensive collection of free ebooks, including academic books. It's more extensive than the other sites, believe me.

Read somewhere that this is the same as bookzz.org, though a reg isn't needed for the latter. Could be wrong though.
There's also http://booksc.org/ which is same format as bookzz but is for scientific articles instead.

It's not. It is the same one as another seemingly unrelated site: libgen.org This is what I had in mind when I made the statement, "It's more extensive than the other sites, believe me."

If you are trying to find textbooks, often international editions are much cheaper! Amazon.com Offers many suppliers which offer cheap international editions for less than half the price of a non-international edition. Moreover, the international editions usually have different covers, but the page numbers and information is exactly the same as the non-international editions.
I just bought a 250 dollar book for 95 dollars!

This is great guys, thank you all so much! I was gonna add bookzz.org but it's there.
The only other free educational tool I can think of is facebook groups. Get a big network of people that you meet in your classes and have them join the group. That way you keep in contact with them and you can ask very specific questions.
e.g. "Oh I already did that class, here's what you need to know...". Or "I have all these extra practice problems". Or "I'll be working on the assignment in the library room g-301 from 10 to 3 if anyone wants to join".
These groups are great since it's easy for anyone to quickly answer a question, without having to take time out of your schedule to go meet people.
This network is also very beneficial to one's career, since you're connecting with intelligent and driven people, who are likely to become successful.
