start to narrate in their head in "Raul Duke?s? voice? This happens to me every time I watch that movie.

yup me too... i think its funny how close johnny depp sounds like the hunter s thompson in the movie, it is actually kinda hard to talk like him, and actually sould like him, to OTHER people...

It is crazy how much Johnny Depp nails whatever role he does. He had every detail about Hunter S. Thompson down.

Too bad Depp couldn't grow any extra 12 inches taller and put on about 100 pounds, that would have helped too. Yet looking back at the Movie, I wouldn't want anyone else playing the part of HST. Now for his Lawyer, Deltoro does any excelent job in every regard except.... He ain't Samoan. At the beginning of the Story HST refers to his lawyer as might being Samoan, he didn't really know. SO either he is a Samoan really in the story or HST is just rambling getting his facts jumbled as always! Its just I grew up around a grip of Samoans and Deltoro sure don't fit their build. I guess they figured if Depp ain't tall enough, might as well fudge the other roll too. Still love the movie though

oscar acosta(hst's lawyer) wasnt samoan he was actually chicano. heres a link with info on oscar zeta acosta, and also a good picture of him with hunter s. thompson. and johnny depp did look like the old hst if you ask me. brillant movie/book though.

I tend to think in that kind of voice anywyas, that or the oresen wells voice, or whatever. Ya know the one that sounds like a slightly more demented Brain from Pinky and the Brain. Strange stuff.

I loved that movie, I'm going to look for the book this weekend...And yeah, after I saw it I kept talking to myself mentally in that voice, it was really amusing

Yea, whenever i get done reading a hst book or watching that movie, i always end up with an ast mind set and with his voice nararating my thoughts. That goes with just about any-thing you read. It rubs off on you.
I read Fear and loathing in america recently. Its abunch of letters to and from hst. He was always talking shit to Oscar. in the end oscar ended up disapearing, was never seen again.
