Exercise = Great!
    #2035787 - 10/23/03 12:41 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

This will be short and sweet. We live in our bodies for our entire lives. To not stay fit and in shape cheats us of the life we were granted possible.

How many of us here do physical labour for a job and reguarily get to use all muscles and make sure they get their due movement requirements..... hhhhm.... my guess is not many.

I mean, fuck. We as a species are not swinging from trees. We are not pulling and shoving rocks anymore. Our lives consist of a lot less movement and adequate use of all of our muscles.

So, unless we all go out and use these muscles on a regular basis, we are going to evolve into a species that is puny and frail, or maybe full of fat and oily.

It feels good to strech out all of our muscles and to give them a bit of a workout. And the opposite sex seems to like it (or maybe even the same sex.. ).

Now is our time to prepare our bodies for the rest of our lives. The more fit and mobile we make ourselves now, the less likely it is for us to get decrepit in old age and require machines to move us around.

And since when has strength been a bad thing?

So let's do the right choice. Let us get out there and purify our temples. Our mind will benefit immensely, and then our posts on here will be full of so much insight and perspective due to our increased functionability, it will be amazing.

And sit up straight, for god's sake.
Peace.

When one can move without thinking, one does not need muscle.

Well, we still need them...

Myself, I like being able to move my body this way and that way.. muscles are so cool. They hold our tattoos on our skin in place...

Oh yeah, I forgot to add this in my first post.

Why the hell don't we drink enough water? It tastes delicious. It is refreshing. It is good for us. And it cleans our body.

Water is our second greatest blessing. So grab a nice, big, cold glass of great water and start drinking. When you drink it all, go and refill. Repeat. Piss when necessary.
Peace.

^^^one must not be able to bench press the bar. hehe, just messing with you DROZ. i will gladly stay fit, it feels good and gives me a positive physical self-image...the mind can only follow this trend.

also, I LOVE WATER. the only things i ever drink are milk, orange juice, and TONS OF WATER, nearly a gallon a day...in fact i'm going to pour myself another glass right now.

...(intermission)...

ahhhhh. well, i do drink beer too, but only on the weekends when i'm getting trashed. that is really the most destructive thing i do to my body. i never drink soda with meals or anything, it is like drinking sugar water and it dehydrates your body. i'd prefer an ice cold glass of water with a meal anyway.

Hehe, TODAY, kick ass!

Yep. I have been downing huge glasses of water all day. I used to drink tons of water at work, and since I moved here I haven't been drinking much at all. That is all going to stop, right here and right now.

And I occasionally do some working out, but not near enough. I am going to be doing exercises several times a day.. I can't wait to be cut. I mean, I deserve to be.

I can't imagine neglecting one's body anymore. I really can't.
Peace.

Muscle makes me do. Sometimes do is greater than think.

I seem to think it is the other way around. We were physical beings long before we became conscious and aware.

Our body is what gets us around. It is the home (albeit temporary) of the soul. There is something so natural and magnificent about the body... to allow ones body to distort and waste away in neglect has the same effects in one's mind and in one's life.
Peace.

I spent my entire summers the past few years biking long distances nearly every day, but my friend who I would go with has left town for college, and the weather is getting cold... my legs are getting weaker again.

I should join a gym or something.

I know what you mean. Towards the end of my time in the U.S. (that is, before I came here), I was riding a bike a couple miles almost every day to get to work, since my brother took off with his car... now my legs are getting weaker as well. I mean, my arms are built, my legs are built, and everything in between is not very well defined at all....

Which is why I am now dedicated right here, right now to getting in shape... it is something I can't put off for any longer.
Peace.

Yeah, the muscle evolved long before the brain did.

Muscles for looks make man vain and shallow.
Muscles for speed make man useful and strong.

Seriously though, there's nothing wrong with a little vanity. Designing your appearance is much like creating a piece of art.

Sorry, I was having too much fun with my 'pithy little sayings'...

But yeah I know what you are saying about exercise. Exercise feels good and is good for a strong heart. Strong heart is good for fighting off diseases and maintaining a healthy body. You guys learn any self-defenses or anything?

I like having well exercised muscles because I will:

A) Be strong and fast.

B) Will be more appealing to the opposite sex.

C) Because having a healthy and well-maintained body is an important thing for very numerous reasons.

D) Because our body is our temple. There is a deep connection between our mind and our body. I want both sides to be strong.
Peace.
