    #2035577 - 10/23/03 11:07 AM (13 years, 1 month ago)

mm i hiave some casings colonizing just now with some EQs and mi question is , should i could shock them? and if so , is it as easy as putting the casing in the fridge and leaving over night? allso i ask this cause many people have told me that eqs dont requier cold shocking so i dont know , would it be beneficial for the grow to be cold shocked? cause the casing is almost completely colonized

I have fruited them quite a few times now, no cold shock (following the vendor advice). Just drop the temp, keep the air flowing, humidity right, a bit of light and they will come.

In this case I don't think cold shocking will help, but I take it your fridge is used for food? If so there is a potential contam risk from coldshocking, so if you do wrap your casings up well.

not sure, have not played with those strains. Coldcocking can't hurt, as long as you don't let fridge mold get in, good excuse to clean out the fridge properly (use anti-bac agent ie bleach)
