ordering pre stereilized jars
from Micron Magick, there pre made BFR cakes ....will these work with EQ spores ect..

i just ordered these same jars, and innoculated them about 3 weeks ago. They are a really good way to start off this hobby especially if you dont have a pressure cooker. Any cubenis strain will grown on these. If you have prints, you will need to make a spore syringe. If you have a syringe, you dont need anything else. they come with filter disks on them which is handy so this is how i went about innoculating the jars. Flame your syringe untill red hot, poke it through the filter as close to the edge of the jar as possible, as far down as you can go to put solution in. after you pull the syringe out, immediatly slide the inside part of the cap over the hole, you can do this all the way around so that the inside is almost never exposed to the outside air.
One problem i have with the presterilized jars is that when they are shipped, it seams like the substrate settles in a little bit too much. I blame this for the slow colonization i have had, but other than that i have no problems to complain of. Dont forget to drill holes in the lids of the cans.

That kind of a rip, dont ya think? $40 for a dozen 1/2 pint jars?!
BELL dz. 1/2 pint jars $8
BRF $8
Verm $4
$15 plus enough mix to do 3 more dozen jars....
Plus you get more satisfaction doing it from scratch and making your on spores and so on.
But that's just me.

Well if its your first time and you absolutely gotta see some results, I dont see anything wrong in buying those jars and a pre made syringe.... Just dont go around saying you "grew them" yourself because you skipped all the hard parts! hehe. Only harm done is to your wallet, oh well. I personaly think failing at first, and even every once in a while, is part of the process. Made me more determined at least.

i used it for my first time only. It isnt a ripoff when you put this into consideration. Even without a pressure cooker...cost of a pan ~ 5$ cost of a stove ~$alot of money. I dont have access to these things. And dont say we didnt grow them. ITs like telling someone a mycobag was not grown. You buy your brf preground? Oh you should have ground it yourself, your skipping the hard part. (sarcasm...heavy heavy sarcasm). If you think mixing substrate is the hard part, please show me the huge mushrooms you have grow, the grow chamber setup you have created, your method for hiding all of this, humidification, etc. Growing with presterilized jars is as much of a grow as anything else.
