half pint jar or a full pint?
    #2033639 - 10/22/03 06:52 PM (21 years, 2 months ago)

ok, this will be my fast time growing mushrooms, and although this may seem like a stupid question i just want to make sure everything is perfect so i can't fuck it up.  instead of using half pint jars for colonization can i use a full pint?  (i'll probably just have to wait longer for the jar to fully colonize right).

thanks in advance for helping me out:)

Sup, vade

Well, given that you don't end up with any contamination, yes, the only downside is waiting longer. However, that longer waiting period gives contaminants that much more time to set in and screw you.

If I were you, I would use half-pints this time around, given how it's your first grow, and all. At least that way, if you find that your sterilization techinques aren't cutting it, more of your jars have a chance of survival.
