Monkey Heads
    #2023746 - 10/19/03 08:32 PM (20 years, 4 months ago)

I have got some monkey heads fruiting right now off of supplemented sawdust blocks. They have an interesting pinkish hue. You may notice the this particular fruit would have been much larger had it not been for some unwarranted slug damage....

What is the species name? I have never heard of these, at least not called "Monkey Head".

Nice looking mushroom.

Okay,

Agar to rye to sawdust amended to about 20% with oatmeal, sterilized in filter patch bags. Incubated at about 25 C for a month, in the dark. Fruited by slitting the bag and sticking it outside on the north side of the house on a table and covering it with 4 layers thick of remay and watering occassionaly. Slugs were a problem.
