So I'm starting on the path of fun guy growing woohoo so excited!!! Here is my DIY made jars with polyfil, clean box, and shotgun tray Monotub thingy waiting on my bht spore in the mail. Going out tomorrow to decide on spawn material. Hopefully I'll find some organic rye if not then should I go with WBS or popcorn?

Detach the gloves from the box, you want a Still Air Box, not a glovebox, a glovebox doesn't have any place in this hobby.
I use wheat , just use the cheapest grain.
You are doing fine! keep it up.

Yeah the drill kinda decided to continue through the lid smh so I'll need to get some lids now... this is a 66 qt tub the trays are 12x9 the jars are 1.5 pints so how much substrate (coir) to spawn should I do?

You may want to start on 1/2 pint jars, they'll colonize faster and then you can g2g into your bigger jars. It'll probably even take less time than inoculating those 1.5 pint jars.
As for how much spawn, I do 3x more coir than I used for cake. For example, if I'm spawning a 1/2 pint jar into a small tray I fill another 1/2 pint jar three times with coir and use that. You could do more though, 4x or 5x more would be fine.

Ok so got my spore in the mail today woohoo!!! Only 3 days shipping time nice!!! Now I'm down to fining the damn spawn material and all I can find is wbs or wheat berries what would be best? Or should I just do brf and then crumble that up into the coir mix? Should I use stright coir or some mix? Plus I went to the dollar store today and found the same size trays but deeper is deeper better? The trays I have now are probably 2 maybe 3 inches deep the new ones I found at the dollar store is like 4 or 5 inches! Would a deeper fruit tray equal more fruit? I plan to start the sterilization process on Thursday and inoculate on Friday so any advice before I make the plunge would be great thanks

Ok so now I'm at about 10 days since inoculation here's what I got going so far. I think everything is doing good so far but my friend that's a partner and very impatient partner in this venture thinks the wbs is dried out or something is wrong I'm telling him it takes time and to be patient. So what yall think is it going good or does this look like a dried out wbs jars? This is from a MS syringe inoculation. My holes are kinda on the small side so maybe GE is low and causing a slow growth but then again is this really slow growth being only 10 days old? Any comments are welcomed

You guys filled the jars to much, you should fill the jars 2/3, not full. Small holes and full jars are not good for GE, you will also have a hard time shaking those jars if they complete colonization.
How small are your holes?

The tall jars are one 1/4" hole the small jars have one 1/8th inch hole. How do I correct this issue if even possible?

Ok I am now waiting on the spawn to complete the coir/verm tray colonization here is day 5! Look good yeah? My main question is, is there suppose to be moisture on the foil? I have 4 holes punched in the foil about 1/4 inch with the medical tape covering the hole. Is this ok or not enough ventilation? Just a lil worried it's too damp or not suppose to have dripping wet foil on the inside?

Yes, That's just condensation, foil is more colder than the substrate, colder surfaces attracts moisture, stealing that moisture from the sub, there is nothing you can do about it.
The imperfect seal of foil would allow GE, even then, i like to poke some holes for more GE. There is no need to cover the holes with tape, if your substrate is properly pasteurized, your spawn clean, and if what i see in your picture is coir, then don't worry about it.

No, they are MS. And environmental conditions fluctuate in there. Maybe 1 or 2 days?

With the sgfc I started off with 3" of perlite then went up to 5" and still at 5" of perlite is was only get to 88% so just said fuck it and went martha. My next question is, is it suppose to start on one end like this then spread across or is only this one corner the only viable part of this entire tray?

you needed to mist your perlite . but perhaps , if it doesnt start pinning all over, that area of your tray is meeting the requirments more so than the rest of it. almost seems wetter in that area of the picture.
edit: or possibly even the evaporation off the surface of the shelf, caused the pinning

When they're in the open like that they pin on the bottom and sides more. Big trays are easier to work with still in trays with a plastic liner but in the open works too in a martha. They will pin elsewhere but maybe not this flush. Bricks for my GH I personally keep to about 1-2 pints each.

So the pins ripened really fuckn fast and are ready for harvest woohoo! So now after harvest do I dunk these trays (wbs/coir/verm) or is that only something you do with the flour cakes?
