mexicana grass seed spawn to worm castings?

After a painfully slow colonization process which has been going on for almost three months a product of 2 fully colonized quart jars of rye grass seed are ready to take the next step in their lives. The fate of one jar has already been decided and it will be used for grain to grain to transfers. As for the other jar, I would like to make the most out of it by using it to spawn a more bulk like substrate. I am aware that wheat straw has been successfully used for this type of project but it just so happens that I have a surplus of worm castings laying around that could be put to good use. I am trying to figure out of it would be a good idea to use my colonized grass seed to spawn to worm castings or if I should just go with wheat straw instead. If nobody has have tried using worm castings as a bulk substrate with mexicanas before then I will take it upon myself to be the first and to get the results of the experiment posted for future reference and for the good of the community. Any feedback is greatly welcomed.

Yeah, start the experiment. I am keen on everything that is related to worm casting.
