Anyone else into Lou Dobbs?

I watch his show on CNN almost every night. (Well at least some of it. It's a one hour show afterall.) . I am working overnight for the next three weeks and when I get home for lunch break, I am just in time to turn on ole' Lou.He used to have only a show dealing with finance, now his show covers more general topics including politics. One of the worst things CNN ever did was let Lou Dobbs get away, and one the best things they ever did was bring him back. What I love about the show is that for one he doesn't feel obligated to cover the tabloid stuff like Kobe, Scott and Lacy Peterson, and J Lo's latest media blitz. He finds niche stories the main stream TV media USED to cover, but doesn't anymore because they aren't "sexy", but they are often neglected. Often completely.
These Scott Peterson/Kobe/OJ stories are interesting, but when you get down to it how do they really affect YOUR life? Does the outsourcing of high tech jobs affect your life? Well if you are in a high tech job, it probably will, but you won't see the main stream media covering that. Lou will. He's got you covered. I highly recommend his show as an alternative to typical tv news trash. It's gotten way out of hand, and Lou stepped in to help fill the void.

I like Lou Dobbs, to some extent he is becoming the most real of the bunch...
But except for brief shining moments, television sucks ass and I wouldnt recommend anyone watch it.

Aaron Brown isn't so bad either. You can tell he has a heart, unlike some of those talking heads.

I like Anderson Cooper.
Lou Dobbs says "militant Islamists" too much instead of the dozen other synonyms for terrorists.

I had a good laugh at Wolf Blitzer's reporting on the Ferry accident last week.. he was like "So far ONE Ferry has hit the Pier so far" - he made it sound like 9/11 was happening all over again.

Yeah PsiloKitten, tv is definately not the best place to get your news. But unfortunately the average citizen is not interested enough to get anything but a digest of the days news. Maybe I'm one of them heh! I have sort of turned off politics the last few years from disgust mainly and this show is getting me interested again.
Another thing I like about the show is the recurring theme of 'Exporting America'. He just had two back to back segments on that topic, and that's just about unheard of on mainstream tv. You can also tell the man is thinking and not just reading from a script which is refreshing.

Personally I have a hard time taking Anderson seriously. I just can't forget him from that terrible 'Mole' show on another network. That's just my prejudice though. He's competant, but I'm not taking down my Lou Dobb's poster anytime soon. Another thing I forgot to mention that's good about Lou is he has a massive head. It's good to have a big ole head when you're on tv. What term would you rather he use, Zahid, for terrorists? Hehe I'm watching the show as I type and Lou *just now* used the term "radical Islamists".

I don't care what terrorists are called, I just think Lou can expand his vocabulary a bit.
