Stroma on cakes?
    #20273889 - 07/14/14 09:56 PM (10 years, 6 months ago)

Hey guys, I birthed 3 cakes 11 days ago and after a 24 hour dunk and roll I put them into my fruiting chamber (PMP) 10 days ago. I have been getting a stringy mycelium like growth coming off the cakes. Is this aerial myc or a stroma growth?

Just looks like aerial myc. Everything looks fine. Little more FAE and you're good to go.

not a pmp dude nor do i care for them but try a pic of the set up itself so i can tell you to build a sgfc:hehehe:, but ya want to get more air then what those fishpumps can pump in and this is normally the result.

You need Polyfill for those holes.

You should probably have built a SGFC ( ) though, doesn't seem like your getting high enough humidity levels with that setup.

Polyfil will hold the humidity in better than the filter patches I have?

it wil allow more airflow which in turn will get you better humidity

I'm more than willing to bet it would. Bottom holes tightly stuffed and if you have any other holes up top (out of picture view) then stuff them lightly (Monotub madness in my signature). It should work better treating it like a Monotub, given your situation.

Ok, thanks guys. I have three more cakes almost ready to be birthed and I'll try a different fruiting chamber for those.
