Are my tubs contaminated? Look and see!

So, it's been 10 days and the tubs have a chlorine type smell, which I remember wasn't a big deal since they haven't received a lot of oxygen being cooped up in my tub with a trash bag for 10 days. They also look a little fluffy, which sometimes it seems like a good thing and others it means trich.

Doesn't it look a little patchy? And about the fuzzy parts? I have other tubs that were done G2G so im more sure they're safer from contams. And by fruiting these, they would contaminate the "good" tubs. So I'm not sure about opening them up and fanning and putting the polyfill in just yet. I just want a second opinion, that's all. Thanks !

The fluff on top can mean trichoederma. And for ten days of colonizig, they look kinda patchy.

upon closer examination, i would toss it. It looks like you have myc and a contam present because its not a uniform white color... you have brighter patches within it...

Right. Usually it's completely colonized on top by now. So, the other 2 apparently need to pay closer attention before replying.

Well, your first post said "fruit that bitch," then after "closer examination..."
so which is it?
again, this is important, so be careful when you say it's all good to someone, because I was considering not even opening those contaminants into the air, but wanted some input first.

The middle looks a little off, but it still looks like it could fruit. If anything it's just some bacteria in there so you shouldn't worry about opening it up. Fruit it and see where it goes.

I agree with Dr. prismism, re.: bacteria being present, especially with the chlorine smell you describe. (we always have some bacteria present, just seems like you have more than enough).
Open that tub up. air it out. fruit it.
good luck.

I've had tubs that looked like this go green on me, but it could just be bacteria like Uncle Rico says. Give it a try at fruiting. If it goes bad, just toss it. Nothing is lost in trying to fruit it. Good luck.

Honestly, I compared it to the tubs that I made a week later from a very secure and safe online syringe instead of a self made spore print.
The other tubs are only 5 days along and they are SOLID white on the top. No, patches, not even extra water pooled. From the pics, they were 10 days old and ugly, myc piss, smelly, and patchy as hell. The pics don't really show how patchy they were. I made them the exact same way, and considering that the tubs I spawned along with the tubs from the pictures, they went south really fast after about 2 weeks, post spawn.
I inoculated these jars in a closet that had contaminated cakes already in them. AND it was from a spore print, not G2G. SOOO many things that could've gone wrong. I learned my lesson, so I just tossed those tubs from the pics after comparing to the other tubs.
The risk that I didn't want to take was airing them out and putting contaminants in the air with my GOOD tubs. I don't know how to get rid of airborne contams that are from a moldy cake. So, I would rather not even risk putting them in the air.

They're doneski.
My question would be, if I had decided to fruit them, wouldn't the contaminants go into the air in at my place and possibly contam other tubs/jars that I have going?

The air in your house is already filled with contams.....your other jars should have filters, and the bulk subs should be pasteurized and contam resistant.

If the mold isn't sporulated you won't be putting any contaminants into your air. If it's bacteria you're worried about, don't. Your body is the largest vector of bacteria in your home.

At what point does mold become sporulated?
Also, if I were to do G2G inoculation of jars in a room that did have mold spores in it, would it still most likely be safe from contamination?

haha, I now see what you meant. I was talking about the "2" of you, meaning AMU turd farmer, since he had a strange look on his video face, as if saying, "the tubs are fine, why would you even ask?"
I was stressing about having another huge contamination, my bad.

If done in a SAB or in front of a Laminar Flow Hood, yes.....open air no.

The molds that commonly infect our hobby work turn green/blue when they produce spores, ie: sporulate.
If you plan to do grain to grain(g2g) transfers they should be done in a still air box (SAB). Every room in your house has contaminant spores in it, but a still air box drastically reduces their threat.
