No fruits

It's been a while since I've been here, but I haven't had any issues in some time...
I have isolated a cubinsis strain and used a coir/verm substrate with a rye grain medium. It's been in the bin for roughly two weeks, and there is no sign of rhizomorphic growth (pins). The bins holes are stuffed with stuffing, dense on the bottom, light on the top. And there is a fan on in the room on a low setting, as well as ambient light.
Is there anything one can do to promote fruiting in this case? In my experience I at least see something by now.

Rhizomorphic growth has nothing to do with pins......there are no pins, so you have no pins.

You want direct/intense 6500K light on a 12/12 for fruiting, not just ambient light.

Could be an isolate that does not produce....could just need more time......could be a hidden contam.......not really much you can do as long as the tub is getting lots of fresh air.

It was my understanding that Rhizomorphic growth is the onset of pins. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
I've never used any form of lighting before, and I've been doing this successfully for 3 years. But, I can't say that a light wouldn't improve the process.
I know that it may be due to the isolate, but am keeping my fingers crossed that it's not. This was saved from a big tirch contam that took over all my grows a few months ago. It was the best mushrooms I've ever had, and wanted to keep it alive.

Have you somehow found a way to have your cake and eat it too? How can you clone something you've already ate?

Clone it before ingesting it....then eat it and discover if it's worth saving.

bio assaying 1 small pin at a time?
just messing, but I get how its at least possible now.
At first when he said isolate I thought he'd just narrowed it down from MS and it might have been a non fruiter. Most clones will fruit wont they? At least fruit way more often than an isolate from MS?

Pussyfart is right. You don't know what you're going to get when you isolate; it's a roll of the dice. I has an MS of amazon cubinsis that was really good in all respects, and took a few tissue samples from fruits to cultivate isolates on petri plates. After I got a few going, I tested those fruits and kept the best ones. It's a long process, but when you get a gem, you want to keep it for as long as you can.

Got a 6500K bulb and put it on a 12/12 cycle. Also tried "forking" one of the bins, which is where you scrape a fork along the surface of the mycelium. I need fruits in 14 days, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

All that does is destroy the substrate.....

I was skeptical at first too. But, within 36 hrs I had pins forming only on the bin I did this to. Coincidence? Perhaps. But now I'll have at least one flush from one bin before Eclipse next week.
