My mono has pooling metabolites. Is it effed?

wouldn't say it's effed... how warm have you been keeping the tub?

it's not bad, a little warm. But someone has told me metabolites can be caused from heat stress or something. Just something to keep in mind.

But I've had subs that produced metabolites and still fruited fine  keep an eye on it

So this doesn't look bad for a ten day old tub?

:awedisgust:

Im pretty sure your tub telling you to fruit it...

and the tub in my sig had pooling metabolites in it also
if you have extra loose polyfil in the top holes, its evaporates pretty quickly

Sub is hpoo/coir/gypsum

This pic is the tub I did the day after. It looks very similar.

Do you really think it's time to fruit? It direct look super colonized to my inexperienced eyes.

There's just so much brown, uncolonized portions visible. Is bulk just not like with the grain, where it all gets very bound together and coated with white when it is ready fruit?

dude man...
it would totally help us a SHIT TON if your camera could focus...

also, the only possibly uncolonized areas i see, are in the bottom right of the original picture in the original post.
just fruit it and be happy

It's ready to fruit, but a few more days of colonization won't hurt. You can use the corner of a quarterly folded paper towel to soak up any pooling/metabolites. Be gentle with the surface of your substrate when you do this, you don't want to touch it if you can help it.

Causes a mess haha. The liner is supposed to kinda stick to and shrink with the sub, if it stays against the walls you'll get tons of sidepins.

I learned my liner lesson. Messy liner=messy harvest

If you tape your liner to the tub then the condensation from the side of your tub will roll down the tub- onto the tape- onto the liner- and onto the surface of your substrate.

I like those little rounded scissors(for retarded kids) for trimming my liner. They're not sharp tipped, so I don't scrape up my tub walls. Trim to the relative level of your substrate.

You can also fold your liner in on itself and tuck it between the substrate and the tub wall.

Oooh, good call. Think that's why my sub looks so wet/dripped on?

Probably. Condensation also forms and drips down from the center of the lid as well, but this can't be avoided as easily. It's also not a big issue. Just use the paper towel to soak it up as it forms.
