Just look for blue bruising that spreads.

Cracks on the surface. If you are worries about it being too dry just dunk it for 4 hours, cant hurt in between flushes.

I dunked them for 2 hours and coated them with verm. They are brf spawned to coir And been in fruiting conditions for about 2 weeks and I only have 6 pins. I took them out of the trays they were in so they are like a big cake. I have 8 of them they are 5"by 5" squares This is what they looked like before I dunked and put verm on them

I like to leave them in their tubs. This way you need to mist and fan 5-6 times a day but it possible. The more misting and fanning u do the more pins you will encourage..

You get that because its the best environment for the mushies to grow. I just leave them there and pick them off at the end. After a while the surface catches up and it becomes a much more even grow.

O ok...do you think 2 hours was long enough of a dunk? Or should I re dunk them for longer? Or just start misting more?

Pick one up and if it feels like it has enough water(heavy) in it they are fine. I think you will be able to work out that for yourself. When I dunk in-between flushes I do so for 4 -12 hours depending upon how dry the cake is. When I finish I leave the cake in an elevated position to drain off. They usually then feel like a half filled sponge not dripping any water.
The reason you fan allot is to make the regularly misted cake surface evaporate as mush water a possible. This is one of the major pinning triggers. The more evaporation the more pins.

Ok I will check how they feel when I get home. I would hate to have to re dunk them I feel like if I keep screwing with them they will get stressed out.

Hmm, I got a similar issue but im not in between flushes, this is my first one. Even my biggest mushie has blue on the stem. Should I mist more? Btw I dunked for 24 hours before introducing to FC. That was about 5 days ago.
