First Grow - Golden Teacher BRF * 1
    #20269994 - 07/14/14 07:47 AM (10 years, 6 months ago)

Well i would like to start bye giving a big thank you to everyone in the shroomery family, i have basically gotten all of my info from you guys but always a reader never a speaker. Any single question i couldve had has been answered in the forums several times already, although i do have one but i will get to that later. I finally made an account today to just show my progress on the first grow since i finally got a camera. Dont mind if this is a lengthy post its my first and will probably be my only like i said i like to read rather then chirp in.
-A LITTLE BACKGROUND INFO -
I Have been tripping for about ten years now, much more then just mushrooms, along with many other drugs i have used/abused, about 7 months ago i gave up anything that wasnt natural, if i couldnt grow it i wouldnt use it. Once i cleaned myself up i decided i wanted to trip. Long story short my mind was in a better place for this trip i presume, which made the trip more of a healing trip for the soul. Having just detoxed from....well say hard drugs....they were still on my mind...ALOT, until this trip, during the trip i felt like my mind and spirit were one again which i havent felt that way since i had started abusing drugs, the only way i can explain it is that my mind was so scattered, and everything fell back into place...ANYWHOOO it had been decided that this will be my new hobby, and so i found shroomery (sorry if i ramble)

SOO.............
I decided to start with BRF cakes, researched (on shroomery of course) for about a month or 2 till i was ready to start, ordered my spores online. I was pretty tight on funds so i was looking for the best way to make that one syringe last without using grains just yet, so i made that into 5 LC's using the sugar in the raw tek, which has worked out beautifully for me BTW (for all the LC haters  ) only lost two to contam but due to my own faults. Once i was sure the LC's were done growing i used 5 one pint tapered cups (tight funds)for brf to test each LC, and i did that twice. For the BRF I did the 2:1:1 verm:H20:BR but i used 25% coffee 75% water. 3 cups made it through the test and colonized just about a hundred percent, one went invitro? at about 90% but fruited fine. I have finally gotten a bunch of half pint jars that are colonizing as we speak. I have a couple of cakes in my SGFC (made to RR specs) thats i have already gotten a flush out of (25g dried), no pics for those sorry just got cam, and i split those with some family and friends. Ill throw some pics up of what is going on at this point. Again sorry if i ramble, im the definition of STONER  :bigblunt:  :jah: . Again id like to give a big thank you to the Shroomery family to many people to name that have really helped me out and didnt even know it. THANKS!

SGFC - just took the cakes out for a second to rehydrate the perlite

Cakes back in, SGFC back in its location bout 5-6 inches above the floor

these are the 1/2 pint jars i have colonizing ( only ones i could find, just glad they r half pint)

Some PIN PORN, the 2 cakes with several pins on them to the left are just starting there second flush, the one small cake just finished its second dunk goin into its third flush, and the messy mishaped disaster is in its fourth flush although im really only expecting one or two to fruit for the 4th flush....This is where my question lies but i will ask after we enjoy some pin porn :crazy2:

Not to shabby right? Needless to say i was made fun of when i first started, 25g later on the first run off two cakes, family didnt have much to say after that other then when we trippin
NOW i do have a question, please dont tell me to use the search because trust me i have, me and the search engine are pretty aquianted to say the least. but sometimes its hard to differentiate old facts from new ones. SOOOO At first i had believed that after each flush i should pick any pins off that didnt get big (which i believed were aborts) so i did that with the first two cakes, but the second flush really kinda sucked, so i dug a little deeper and read and RR post that said all/most pins for all the flushes come in first but only the ones ready to grow for that flush will get bigger, and u can dunk between flushes with the pins still on, and that they wont mold. (RR no offense if i am not quoting you exactly or mi understood). Can you guys please explain to me what to do with these between flushes, and if i should leave them, then how would you spot aborts before the last flush, im very confused with this PLEASE HELP....i have sh*t my pants several times through this whole process thinking i ruined everything (from the LC's to thinking myc was cobweb mold etc etc) but figured it out, except for this, i need to be explained this. ANY input would be greatly appreciated good or bad, im always open for constructive criticism.

This is what i have left over from the first flush(s), i use a food dehydrator to dry them, there is no temp setting but i have not had a problem i usually leave the top off untill they are cracker dry, then place them into those jars with one of those packets you get in the boxes. Havent really needed to freeze them cuz i havent planned on having them more then a month or two in those jars (if this is wrong please tell me if they need to be froze as soon as theyre done drying)
AGAIN......SORRY IF I RAMBLE, CRITICIZE AWAY IF YOU SEE SOMETHING TOTALLY WRONG.........AND THANK YOU GUYS FOR ALL THE HELP.....i see this website been running for ten? years and the distance you guys have brought cultivation is amazing. much RESPECT......

:mushroom: STAY CALM, AND TRIP ON MY FRIENDS :mushroom:

gotchya, another question i have is, is it bad to flip the cakes while they are fruiting between flushes because one had some pins growing out the bottom and i was nervous they werent gonna survive if i left em under there...

Little update today, i was pretty surprised when i woke up this morning this is the most growth ive seen in one night, the fruits pretty much trippled in size (some anyway), and if you look at the shorty i have in the corner there some myc growth on one side, this cake is on its third flush so that kinda took me bye surprise as well, im guessing its cuz i rehydrated the perlite yesterday

please give me some input on the pins/aborts subject because if those little pins on the side are taking away from the other fruits ill pluck emm, i really havent had an issue tho, as far as fruits go, have had numerous 20-30g shroomz but can always make changes for the better...
