As I said before these things are hard to find this year. I can not wait for the picks. Going out again tomorrow.

Quick question.......? Do you think that the weilii this year are a lighter color than some of the past years? I personaly never have seen a weilii but i have been doing alot of research on them. All of the pictures i come across seem to be alittle darker than i ones i've seen come from this year. When i go on searches i'm looking for the darker brown shades, should i focus on lighter ones or is this whole thing just a crazy idea of mine?

The color of weili(and most mushrooms) tends to fade a lot when the sun gets to them. I've picked weilii with amost white caps because they'd been in the sun for 2-3 days.

Rule no. 1: Stop trying so hard. Just wander around, enjoy your walk. Stop trying to see what you want to see, you will see them when they are in front of you. That's my experience anyway.

Is it pointless to go out when rain has been sparse?

Unless you know the place you're scoping out has a sprinkler system... yes.

Hmm we think opposite. When I hunt, I envision the mushroom perfectly and see it in my mids eye. I am very intentional, and make sure not to just wander around, but check over every possible lawn at leat once; usually twice.
Everyone has different methods.
